The CHR Prep Service has appointed former Sky News journalist Simon Lumsden as their new Head of Content working alongside their editorial team.

He will lead the final output of the prep service which is produced for stations around the world, like KIIS 1065 in Sydney and Z100 in New York.

Simon previously worked at Radio Clyde and as an Area Content Manager for the GWR Group (now Global) before moving to Sky News.

More recently, he was responsible for the rebrand of 89.7 Bay in Malta working as the Station Manager to bring record listening figures to the hit music brand.

Jamie Cawdell, Managing Editor, said: “Simon is a massive hire for the service and I am confident his clear experience in the field of news and editorial will take the product to a new level we could previously only dream of reaching.”

“Our team is relatively small in comparison to many newsrooms similar to our own so having someone who has this level of experience feels almost like cheating.”

Speaking about his appointment, Simon said: “I am delighted to bring my experience, passion and commitment to the talented CHR Prep Service team.”

“My main focus will be on delivering the key content that matters the most to the millions of listeners around the world who hear our work.”

The CHR Prep Service provides daily showbiz, news and content to radio shows small and large from a variety of different markets at an affordable cost.

It was launched back in 2018 and has since seen clients from around the world using the content their editorial team produces on a daily basis.

Notable brands using the service include Capital, Radio 538, Hits Radio, KIIS 1065 and more recently Virgin Radio across the whole of Canada.
